The National Security Agency (NSA) "Find Your Best Path" pocket brochure was an innovative recruitment tool designed to engage middle and high school students at career day events. Targeted toward encouraging interest in STEM and foreign language careers, the brochure transformed complex information into an accessible, engaging format that resonated with a digitally inclined audience.
To achieve this, a 3”x4.25” Z-Card fold-out design was selected for its dual functionality: compact and pocket-friendly when folded, yet capable of expanding into a classroom poster. The content mirrored the concise, visually appealing style of online media, using if/then programming language, computer engineering grid graphics, and engaging activities like cryptograms to draw students in.
The design further enhanced its appeal with smartphone-inspired covers, digital-style icons, and clean, easy-to-read fonts that created a cohesive, modern aesthetic. While its sporadic distribution limited traditional metrics, field reports from NSA recruiters highlighted its success as an effective and well-loved engagement tool.
