Community Development Financial Institutions

For the Community Development Financial Institutions Fund (CDFI) under the Department of the Treasury, this project involved redesigning their program award books to improve visual appeal and functionality. Our team developed a comprehensive and flexible template using Adobe InDesign and Illustrator, enabling the seamless integration of statistical and financial data through visually engaging elements such as infographics, charts, graphs, and tables.

This project presented several challenges, including making dense data visually compelling, establishing a cohesive yet distinctive color palette aligned with CDFI’s brand, and creating a template accessible to users with minimal design experience. Through collaborative efforts and iterative feedback sessions, we delivered nine completed award books and corresponding templates ahead of the client’s annual deadline.

To ensure long-term usability, we provided a detailed user guide and embedded instructional notes within the templates. The templates were designed with accessibility in mind, offering 508-compliant features upon export. This project successfully met the client’s needs by balancing technical precision, visual impact, and usability.
